What's the story behind dishcracker.com?

It all started on a rainy day in our tiny 6-square-meter kitchen. We were two roommates in college, both obsessed with recreating iconic dishes. That day, craving Marie Callender's Chicken Pot Pie but too lazy to go out, we decided to make our own. After some chaos (and nearly setting off the smoke alarm), we served it to our friends and neighbors. Their reaction? "Holy cow, this tastes just like the real thing!" That's when we knew we were onto something special.

Are your recipes exact copies of the originals?

Not quite – we're more like culinary detectives. We start with the original flavors, then tweak and experiment until we crack the code. Sometimes we stumble upon happy accidents that make the dish even better (don't tell Marie Callender we said that!).

How often do you post new recipe cracks?

We aim for weekly, but sometimes our experiments take longer. Last month, we spent two weeks trying to nail the secret spice blend in KFC's chicken. Our neighbors probably thought we were running an illegal poultry farm!

Can I suggest a dish for you to crack?

Absolutely! Our 'Reader's Challenge' section exists because someone dared us to recreate a Big Mac sauce. Bring on your trickiest restaurant favorites – we love a good mystery!

Do you adapt recipes for dietary restrictions?

We're working on it! We recently cracked a gluten-free version of Olive Garden's breadsticks that doesn't taste like cardboard. Small victories, folks!
